The North’s largest low cost airline, Jet2.com has been flying commercial aircraft for over 25 years and recently carried its four millionth passenger. The Leeds-based airline expects to carry 3.5 million passengers in 2007. Launched in October 2002, Jet2.com operated its first flight from Leeds Bradford Airport to Amsterdam on 12th February 2003. Leeds Bradford Airport was chosen as the primary base for Jet2.com as it found that the North of England was generally underserved by low cost carriers in comparison with the South.

As a city with great economic diversity, fantastic economic growth and a catchment area of around 2.9 million people, the Leeds Bradford Airport city region was an obvious choice for Jet2.com’s base of operations. Over the last three years Jet2.com has dramatically increased its operations in the North of England. The airline now has a fleet of 23 Boeing 737-300 and 3 Boeing 757-200 aircraft, serving 32 destinations from bases at six UK airports.

Jet2.com offers a wide range of convenient flights from Leeds Bradford Airport to a number of key European business destinations, including Amsterdam, Belfast, Paris, Rome, Geneva, Prague, Barcelona and Düsseldorf.

It also offers many business routes and domestic flights to London and Edinburgh from its base at Manchester Airport. Jet2.com’s recent head office relocation to Leeds Bradford Airport brings its staff total to more than 940 employees - further cementing the company’s ongoing commitment to the Leeds city region.
