Founded in 1805, The Leeds Law Society represents the solicitors (now numbering more than 2,000) who work in the City of Leeds. Its members are spread across more than 120 firms of varying sizes. The Society occupies offices on Albion Place in the heart of Leeds city centre.

Through the work of its sub-committees, The Leeds Law Society keeps abreast of current developments affecting the legal profession and
contributes to consultations on a whole range of topical issues. In conjunction with The Law Society’s Regional Office, the Society provides
training and development opportunities for its members. It also publishes the Leeds & Yorkshire Lawyer a respected publication with a wide
circulation in Leeds and beyond.

The Leeds Law Society provides important liaison between solicitors and others in the City of Leeds and beyond, such as the Bar, Land Registry, the
Courts and the Judiciary.

The Society has been instrumental in the inception of the Leeds Legal campaign and is a major sponsor. The campaign offers an excellent opportunity for lawyers in the city to work together to showcase to the wider UK and international business communities, the huge depth of legal talent which exists in Leeds and to raise awareness of the high quality service which firms in Leeds can offer to their clients.
